My name is Joyce Forsythe, and I have worked in the Mental Health and Addictions field for over 25 years. I have a BSN in Nursing, and a Masters of Education Degree in Clinical Counselling. My background includes working with adolescents, adults, the elderly, First Nations people, persons with intellectual and physical disabilities, and people with acquired brain injuries. In therapy, I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches including solution focused, cognitive behavioural, rational emotive behavioral therapy, person centered, narrative therapy, EMDR for trauma, systems and feminist therapy. I have experience working with anxiety, anger management, stress, depression, grief and loss, OCD, trauma, and addictions. I have expertise in the acute care setting and extensive community experience in the mental health and addictions field. I strive to keep current in my practice by reading journals, attending workshops, and receiving clinical consultation with a psychologist for trauma therapy.

I have office space in Prince George and am flexible in that I can meet in alternative settings if this is more acceptable to my clients.

I am registered with the BC Counselling Association and I carry liability coverage.
